Mass boycott of 3000 JEN of 5 power companies

JEN collective work of 5 power corporations of Rajasthan has gone on boycott. Which has started affecting the power supply and distribution. Around 3000 JEN (Junior Engineers) across the state have gone on mass leave. A large number of JENs have put a mahapadav in Jaipur’s Jagatpura indefinitely. The agitation is being led by the Power Engineers Association of Rajasthan, angry over the non-implementation of the order of the 185th Coordination Committee’s recommendation report to remove the salary and ACP discrepancy of JEN. Since May 26, the electricity system in the state has started crumbling due to the mass strike of the engineers working with the black belt. The conditions of proper distribution of electricity, technical fault rectification, GSS and power management in the field have started deteriorating. JENs of Jaipur, Jodhpur and Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigams as well as Rajasthan Vidyut Utpadan Nigam, Rajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam are on a mass work boycott.

Power Engineers Association of Rajasthan general secretary Rahul Verma said that the indefinite Mahapadav will continue till the pay discrepancy is not removed.

No promotion post salary even in 9-18-27 years

State General Secretary of Power Engineers Association of Rajasthan, Rahul Verma said that there was some pay discrepancy while implementing the Sixth Pay Commission in the state. which has not been removed till date. In the absence of promotion during the entire service period, the JEN does not get the salary of the promoted post even in the age of 9-18-27 years. The association has been fighting for this for the last 12 years. But no government took heed. 12 years ago JEN used to get the status of first grade. But today he has come to the third grade status. The Energy Department has recommended several times to remove this wage and the ACP’s shortcoming. But as before, by paying 10 increments and the first ACP-5400 grade, the demand to remove this drawback has been stuck by the government and the finance department.

There is a demand that the Energy Department should pass the pass proposal on behalf of the Coordination Committee to remove the salary and ACP discrepancy. Which 7 years have passed. Order should be passed or the date of passing of the order should be indicated. Only after that the Mahapadav will be postponed. Otherwise the Mahapadav will continue indefinitely.

Memorandum sent to CM Gehlot

Association President Hemant Kumar has said in a memorandum sent to the Chief Minister that on March 3, 2022, after a day-long dharna in Jaipur, in talks with ACS Energy, he had assured to rectify the pay discrepancy soon. But the orders have not been issued till date. On May 25, a memorandum was also given to senior officers in the name of Energy Department Minister Bhanwar Singh Bhati. But action has not been taken on that also.
