Accused of ATM fraud caught in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: Trusting a stranger while withdrawing money from an ATM can be overwhelming. Because the thug who cheated many elders and withdrew money by changing the ATM card has been caught by the police once again. It is to be noted that this thug has been arrested by the cyber crime branch before.. The thug has changed more than 14 ATM cards in two months after coming out of jail. It has also been revealed that these thugs have had fun by collecting lakhs of rupees.

Sarkhej Police has nabbed a thug who was cheating senior citizens. Accused Rajveer alias Chintun Bhatt, a thug, is a mastermind in card fraud on the pretext of helping a customer withdrawing money at an ATM center. The fraudster used to target elderly people coming to the ATMs and asking them to help withdraw money from those who were not good at using ATM cards, asking them to know their password and then changing their card to carry out the fraud.

Thug Rajveer Bhatt has cheated more than 14 people in many places including Ahmedabad, Valsad, Vadodara Gandhidham, Kutch, Mumbai and used the money of these thugs to indulge in fun. Accused Rajveer used to steal big and small in the beginning for fun. Due to which his father scolded him and left home. And after that they decided to target people including the elderly as they were having trouble withdrawing money from the non-fun ATMs. In which for the last 7 years, the accused has committed a fraud of lakhs of rupees by changing the card on the pretext of helping at the ATM center.

For the last 22 months, the accused was in the Central Jail for the crime of ATM fraud, but after coming out for two months, he started committing this kind of fraud once again. However, the accused Sarkhej came into police custody when he withdrew money from Anand Chokdi in December 2022 on the pretext of helping a senior citizen. In which a suspicious car was seen in the CCTV during the police investigation. On the basis of which Rajveer Bhatt was arrested after investigation. And ATM cards of 30 customers, cars, 42 thousand cash were found from him and he has confessed to having committed 14 crimes in the last two months.

In the year 2020, when the cyber crime branch caught the thug Rajveer, as many as 21 ATM fraud cases were opened against him. Accused Rajveer Bhatt used to chase girls in dance bars in Mumbai for fun with the cheated money. So the accused has confessed that he decided to cheat to complete the fun. A habitual thug has once again been thrown behind bars for his actions.
