Kirit Patel has written a letter to the Chief Minister requesting to conduct the election of the Sarpanchs of the remaining Gram Panchayats in the state as soon as possible. Some village panchayat elections have been pending for quite some time now. Elections are not held on time, administrators are placed by the government and due to this, many primary issues of the villagers are not resolved. Because, Talati is placed as administrator.
Talati currently has a work load of seven to eight villages as a result of which Talati cannot devote enough time. In a letter to the Chief Minister, he submitted that even though the tenure of the Sarpanchs of the Gram Panchayats in the state of Gujarat has been completed for some time, the election of the Sarpanchs in the remaining villages of the state has not been held for any reason and in the villages in which the elections have not been held. Its administration is being done by the administrators appointed by the government. As a result, the local people are facing a lot of difficulties in their administrative work.

Even now there is a huge shortage of Talati employees in the state. As a result Talati/administrator working in such villages has to carry additional work load of about 7-10 villages at present. As a result, they are constantly facing various administrative difficulties including issues of basic necessities of life like drinking water, sanitary, sewerage tax collection etc. In addition, many development works have been stalled as these administrators are unable to take policy decisions, and the appointment of some administrators has also been completed.
