Cycle rally from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi

Ahmedabad: Governor Acharya Devvrat today flagged off a cycle rally from Sabarmati Ashram to Dandi with the message ‘Journey to self-reliant India, towards self-reliance…’ as part of the 75-year celebrations of the National Cadet Corps-NCC. On this occasion, he said, ‘NCC started from the holy land of Pujya Gandhiji. This cycle rally of cadets will bring out the spirit of patriotism, dedication and public service among the youth of the region wherever it passes.’

In addition, Governor Acharya Devvrat said, ‘We are celebrating the Amrit Mohotsav of Independence on the call of the successful Prime Minister of India, Narendrabhai Modi. Today, India is the fifth largest economy in the world. Make a personal contribution for self-reliant India: Devvrat

Calling for increasing the use of indigenous products for a self-reliant India, Governor Acharya Devvrat said, ‘Pujya Mahatma Gandhi led the indigenous movement during the freedom struggle and did Namak Satyagraha. Both of these added vigor and enthusiasm to the people. Today our economy will be more prosperous. If our industries are to be encouraged, once again everyone has to come forward to increase the use of indigenous products. So we will be able to make a personal contribution for a self-reliant India.’

Cycle Rally during 14th January, 2023

Additional Director General of NCC, Major General Arvind Kapoor, while giving the details of the cycle rally, said, ‘Cycle rally will be held from 07th January to 14th January, 2023 to spread the message of self-reliance to the nook and cranny of the state to advance the resolve of self-reliant India. 25 young NCC cadets will complete the cycle rally at Namak Satyagraha Sangamalaya in Dandi by covering 409 km. Here the cycle rally will merge into the motorcycle rally.

A celebration of India’s ‘Salt to Software’ journey

India’s ‘Salt to Software’ journey is being celebrated with a motorcycle rally from Dandi to Delhi, which will conclude on January 28, 2023 in Delhi, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi also in attendance. NCC officials, trainers, cadets, employees of Sabarmati Ashram were present on the occasion of the departure of this cycle rally.
