Ahmedabad: Gujarat Science City has now become a free WiFi campus as part of Digital India. Visitors can get free Wi-Fi in the campus by logging in with their name, phone number or email id. Gujarat Science City’s various attractions attract visitors of all ages, from children to elders. At the same time Gujarat Science City is continuously working towards building a strong nation by developing scientific approach in the society with continuous increase in visitor facilities.
Gujarat Council of Science City (GCSC), working under the aegis of Department of Science and Technology, Government of Gujarat, is emerging as a platform to popularize science on a large scale in the country.
Innovative hands-on activities are promoted periodically through various hands-on activities and mind-on exposure to engage the society and young students with science. Science City strives to develop a scientific approach to make the next generation technically proficient, helping to bring the vision of “Digital India” to life.
Science City 2.0 was launched on 16th July 2021 by Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the inauguration of new global projects – Robotics Gallery, Aquatic Gallery and Nature Park. Spread over a sprawling green campus of 107 hectares, the various projects and attractions of the Science City campus attract people of all ages, not only establishing it as an important science tourism destination of the state and the nation.
Science City is a perfect blend of education and entertainment. It showcases contemporary and imaginative exhibits, experiences, working models, virtual reality, activity corners, labs and live demonstrations to provide the common man with an understanding of science and technology.
To promote digital literacy, Science City has developed an online booking and ticketing system. Visitors are easily booking their tickets in advance on the website or mobile app. Tickets are issued through PoS machines at the ticket counter at the Science City entrance, so the entire campus operates on cashless transactions.
