A watch tower has been erected in the middle of the white desert to enjoy a view of the white desert from a height, giving the feel of the moon’s surface on earth. The horizon between earth and sky disappears when tourists climb this watch tower and take in the view of the vast salt desert. However, since the watch tower has fallen into disrepair in the recent past, tourists have been banned from climbing it during Ranotsav this year.
After the tragedy of Morbi suspension bridge, the Kutch district administration has also banned climbing this watch tower as a precautionary measure. With the closure of the watch tower, a great photo spot in the White Desert, a major tourist attraction has been taken away from them. Tourists cannot take advantage of this watch tower during Ranotsav this time, but this watch tower will be used in a special way in the upcoming G20 summit.
A light and sound show has been organized at this watch tower for these delegates in the evening when delegates from different 20 countries of the world will be guests of Kutch to observe the tourism of Kutch and will gather in the tent city of White Run to discuss tourism issues. By covering the watch tower with a white cloth and projecting light on it, people will be able to see this light show from afar in the white desert.
It is worth mentioning that, in this three-day summit to be held in the White Desert, representatives of 20 countries will discuss the issue of tourism. So, one to one superior planning has been done to show them the potential of Kutch tourism. Moonlight dinner in Sadd Rann, geo tourism of Kutch and site seeing in Dholavira have also been organized for them.
