Navsari: Heavy,..During the excavation in this village, such a thing came out that there was a big controversy!

Navsari: It is the duty of the municipal officials to keep a check on the illegal activities taking place in any municipal area but here it is the municipal rulers who have been accused of corruption and illegal soil mining. Due to which the atmosphere has become tense. A municipality like Khoba and a storm like the sea This adage fits the rulers of Belimora Municipality. There was a controversy when the soil of Dalit community’s crematorium was dug up for purana in the party plot of Belimora municipality.

The Dalit community was outraged after illegal excavation of soil by a sub-contractor from a crematorium on the banks of the Ambika River revealed the buried bones of their dead elders. The people of the Dalit community filed a complaint with the Belimora Municipality and demanded justice.

In order to prevent the security system from being disturbed, police personnel including PSI of Belimora police station also reached the municipal premises.

A petition has been given by the Belimora Dalit Samaj to the Belimora Municipality in which it is clearly stated that a party plot is being constructed in front of the Belimora Jalaram Mandir by the Belimora Municipality. In which the contract of Mati Puran has been given to Nitin Kalasaria of Surat. Who has sub-contracted this Mati Puran to Harishbhai Aud, a member of Belimora municipality and leader of the ruling party. In this party plot, the soil used in the Purana, Harish Ode, placed the JCB in the age-old cremation ground of the Dalit community near the Ambika river and illegally excavated the soil.

The bones and skulls of the dead bodies of relatives buried in the cremation ground have come out. Seeing him dragging animals like dogs and pigs has hurt the sentiments of our society. The sentiments of the Dalit community have been greatly hurt when the remains of relatives who dug soil illegally for the municipality’s party plot in their own burial ground are coming out. Due to which Dalit community leaders formed a front in Belimora Municipality and protested, along with the demand that strict action should be taken against the leader of the ruling party, Harichod, the locals attempted to self-immolate with kerosene, and the police handled the matter.

After a strong representation by the society, the matter was settled after persuasion by the police and officials of the organization and an obligation has been given to return the soil removed from the crematorium within two days and clean it up. Further, the chief officer of the municipality said that he has also asked the locals to file a complaint in the Thal Minerals Department. The office also said that if a complaint is made to the Department of Mines and Minerals, a decision on this matter can be taken immediately, and the President of the municipality Mistry also said that the municipality has no knowledge of this soil erosion.
