Nilesh Rana, Banaskantha :Vicharata Community Support Forum (VSSM) organized Vrikshamitra Samman program at Palanpur Municipality Town Hall. In which the Tree Friends and Tree Associations who did tree cultivation activities were honoured.

As part of the initiative to make Banaskantha district greener, the Vicharata Community Support Forum (VSSM) is undertaking intensive water harvesting and tree planting work. 194 lakes, 12 wells have been recharged by this organization since 2017.

And since 2019, 123 villages have been raised with a total of 4.78 lakh trees. For the preservation and careful nurturing of the trees planted in each village forest, this organization has appointed tree friends and established tree societies in each village.

On this occasion, Deputy Conservator of Forest Abhay Kumar Singh said that. 4 crore bigha forests are being destroyed every year in the world, which is a big challenge for us. Forest department works to save forests. Organizations like Vicharata Community Support Forum are also helping.

This organization has planted and nurtured more than 4 lakh trees in Banaskantha district in the last 3 years, which is commendable. He said that public awareness and public movement are necessary to save the environment.

A campaign to create tree-like green cham in a dry region like Banaskantha

Mittalben Patel, Secretary of Vicharata Community Support Forum, said, Meghraja will be blessed by spreading green sheets in the form of trees in a dry region like Banaskantha. Trees are a boon to thousands of creatures and ecosystems, including humans.

In this program, among the 36 village forests set up in the year 2022, which have been nurtured by proper maintenance and grooming of trees in village forests, tree friends and tree societies were honoured. For tree cultivation, tree friend of Ludra village of Deodar taluk was given Rs 51,000, tree friend of Benap village of Suigam taluk got Rs 21,000 and tree friend of Achhwadia Surana and Wakha villages got Rs 11,000 each and certificates of appreciation were awarded to tree associations.

Provincial officer Sushil Parmar, founder of Jewelex India Piyushbhai Kothari, writer Kanubhai Acharya, Naranbhai Rawal and the team of Vicharata Community Support Forum and a large number of tree lovers were present in this program.
