Rescue operations are still being conducted in northern Syria and southeast Turkey, where extensive destruction was caused by a major quake and its severe aftershocks. As emergency personnel painstakingly search the debris for survivors, the death toll has reached tens of thousands and is still rising. Amid this, a miraculous rescue took place in the village of Bisnia, west of Iblid, in Syria.
A whole family was saved among the survivors in the region of Idlib. Three young children and two adults were pulled from a building’s rubble during the rescue. Once they were safe, the rescue team quickly took them to an ambulance. The video of the rescue was shared by the Syria Civil Defence volunteer organisation, The White Helmets.
In the post’s caption, The White Helmets informed, “A true miracle…the sounds of joy embrace the sky… joy beyond belief. An entire family was rescued from under the rubble of their house this afternoon, Tuesday, February 7, in the village of Bisnia, west of #Idlib. #Syria #earthquake.”
According to thenationalnews.com, the family was stuck under the debris for 40 hours.
