India sends relief aid to quake-hit Syria under ‘Op Dost’; Toll crosses 11,500 | Times Of Ahmedabad
India has been actively involved in aiding earthquake-hit Turkey and Syria, where the devastation on Monday has left over 11,500 people dead. Under ‘Operation Dost,’ India has now sent 6 tonnes of relief materials to Syria. The consignments were sent on a C-130J military transport aircraft on Tuesday night and were handed over to the Syrian authorities by India’s Charge D’affaires SK Yadav this morning. Pictures shared by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar from Nurdagi in Gaziantep show an NDRF team using cranes and other heavy equipment near a collapsed building to search for survivors. On the other hand, drones from India’s Garuda Aerospace will also be deployed in a rescue mission in Turkey by the NDRF. Watch this video to find out more on how India is helping Turkey and Syria.
