India third in startups, biggest exporter of vaccines, mobiles: Anurag Thakur | Latest News India | Times Of Ahmedabad

Union minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday said India has become the biggest exporter of vaccines, mobile phones and defence equipment. He also said that India also ranked third in the startup ecosystem with around 90,000 starups and 107 unicorn companies valued around $30 billion. Thakur was addressing the valedictory event of the 36th Inter-University North Zone Youth Festival (Antarnaad) under the aegis of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) at the Jammu University.

“India is now the hub of startup ecosystem in the world, ranking third with 90,000 startups and 107 unicorn companies worth 30 billion dollars which has been possible only by the contribution of India’s youth,” he said.

He added that to develop in the area of green economy, sustainable investment is required to produce green jobs and India is moving towards that goal. “India is moving towards becoming the global hub for green hydrogen producing five million metric ton, 10 per cent of the world in the next five years with 8 lakh crore investment that will generate thousands of green jobs for the youth of this country,” he added.

The world is looking towards new India as it has become the world’s biggest exporter of vaccines, biggest exporter of mobile phones and defence equipment, Thakur said.

More than 1,000 participants from 18 universities across the country participated in the week-long festival.
