The Vayeda brothers are giving Warli art a future | Times Of Ahmedabad

The Vayeda Brothers were a hit at the India Art Fair. Their 132ft x 40ft, larger than life mural drew from their backgrounds as Warli artists, and were sprinkled with shapes that could have been leaves, plants, flowers, birds flying in a limitless blue expanse. Titled Forests of the Future, it marked the brothers’ first digital art work, made by remastering high-resolution images with a software program. Tushar Vayeda, 35, and Mayur Vayeda, 30, grew up in Ganjad village in Palghar district in Maharashtra. They are now making a name for themselves in the contemporary art scene, with their works making it to galleries across the world. Here they tell us about how they made the Forests of the Future, what drives them and their artistic vision.
