KRISHNAGIRI: Three college students were killed and 2 others injured after their car hit a mini ruck near Shoolagiri near the city in Tamil Nadu in the early hours of Sunday.
The Shoolagiri police said the incident occurred when a group of 4 friends of different private colleges in Bengaluru were heading to Salem in a car.
“When they neared Koneripalli, the driver of the car likely lost control over the vehicle and hit the mini truck, which suddenly crossed the lane without any warning, from behind,” a police officer said.
He identified the deceased as T Santhosh Kumar, 23, Naresh Yashwant, 21, and K Tamilanban, 23. The officer said the trio’s friend M Sashvindh, 23, and car driver Sherwin Isac, 23 are battling for their lives.
The police registered a case in the matter and further investigation is on.
