Gandhinagar Teacher Killed: Gandhinagar Teacher Killed In Hit And Run | Ahmedabad News


Ahmedabad: A 49-year-old primary school teacher died late on Tuesday after an unidentified vehicle hit his scooter near Gha-5 Circle at Sector 22 in Gandhinagar.
Hemant Modh, a resident of Thaltej, said in his FIR with Sector 21 police that his brother Tanmay Modh, the victim, was a primary school teacher in Vasania Mahadev school.
Around 10.45pm on Tuesday, Hemant received a call from an employee of Gandhinagar Civil Hospital, who informed him that Tanmay had met with an accident and was rushed to the Civil Hospital in Asarwa.
When Hemant reached the hospital, a doctor declared Tanmay dead at 11.58pm on Tuesday.
Sector 21 police have registered a complaint of causing death by negligence under IPC along with the charges of the Motor Vehicles Act against an unknown accused. Gandhinagar police are investigating the case.

Teachers body opposes directive to impose school culture on varsities
Teachers in Bihar oppose the Education Department’s directive to impose school culture in higher education institutions. The Federation of University Teachers Associations of Bihar (FUTAB) has urged vice-chancellors not to follow these orders which go against UGC regulations. FUTAB threatens to paralyze universities and colleges if the order is not withdrawn by November 30. The teachers argue that the education department officials lack understanding of the academic functioning of higher education institutions.
