KCR can’t spare 2 minutes for people of Telangana: Rahul | India News

HYDERABAD: Congress MP Rahul Gandhi launched on Sunday a scathing attack on Telangana CM K Chandrasekhar Rao, demanding explanations for alleged corruption and betrayal of public trust during his 10-year tenure. He questioned KCR’s apparent lack of even “two minutes” to meet unemployed youth affected by the leaked Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) question papers and accused him of seizing land, depleting citizens’ funds, and monopolising lucrative ministries for his family’s gain.
“KCR is speaking the language of PM Narendra Modi.Even Modi asks what Congress has done. I can tell KCR that the roads he uses, the school and colleges in which he studied were built by the previous Congress governments,” Rahul said. He addressed rallies for the November 30 Telangana polls in Andole, Sangareddy, and Medak assembly constituencies.
Rahul called on KCR to account for his actions. “Before asking what Congress has done, KCR owes an explanation to the people why he betrayed them and shattered their dreams of a better life in the new state, why did he steal (Rs) 1 lakh crore public money in the Kaleshwaram project and thousands of crores from other projects through graft,” he said.
He went on to accuse KCR of betraying the people of Telangana, alleging that the CM had shattered their dreams for a better life in the new state. The Congress MP also claimed that KCR misappropriated public funds.
“KCR’s objective of re-designing the Kaleshwaram project was not to give water to the people, but to steal (Rs) 1 lakh crore public money. KCR brought Dharani portal, not to computerise your land records but to snatch land parcels from 20 lakh people, including farmers, and give it to his billionaire friends… And all the money-minting portfolios are held by KCR and his family,” Rahul alleged.
The Congress MP labelled KCR’s administration as “the most-corrupt government in the country”, alleging that the CM and Modi were collaborating in looting the people. He called on Congress-governed states’ CMs to recover the allegedly embezzled funds and redirect them towards welfare schemes for the poor. “The people of Telangana will also get back the money looted from them by KCR in the form of six guarantees and other promises made by Congress in Telangana,” he said.
