Ahmedabad: The Gujarat State Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission has ordered a developer firm and its directors to hand over the possession of flats to five customers with Rs 3.80 lakh compensation or refund the amounts paid towards consideration.
The case involved five consumers, Naresh Balwani from Gandhidham, Mehulbharthi Goswami, Heena Khorasiya, Chakshu Suthar and Lalit Soni.Each of them booked flats in a scheme known as Stavan Parishray in Gota area promoted by Sambhav Infrastructure Pvt Ltd and its directors Mihir Desai and Toshal Desai. The scheme was planned in 2012 and the customers booked the flats in 2015 and paid different amounts towards the sale consideration.
The builder had promised to hand over the possession of the flats in February 2016 without any encumbrance. However, that did not happen. tnn

Collegian drugged, raped in Mumbai flat, two held
Two men have been arrested for allegedly spiking a 19-year-old college student’s drink and raping her in a Chembur flat. The woman reached out to a 26-year-old neighbour for cooking ingredients. The neighbour, along with his 30-year-old friend, offered her a soft drink. She fell unconscious after consuming the drink and was sexually assaulted. The men were arrested and booked under various sections of the IPC. The police are awaiting the forensic report of the soft drink and the medical examination of the victim.
