Siddharth: Ramkumar Ramanathan and Siddharth Vishwakarma Storm into Men's Singles Finals | Mumbai News


Mumbai: Indian challengers Ramkumar Ramanathan and Siddharth Vishwakarma both scored comfortable victories to storm into the men’s singles finals of the MSLTA $25000 Men’s ITF Tennis Championship on Saturday.
In the semifinal, Ramkumar outdueled Germany’s second seed Louis Wessels, clinching a comfortable 7-6(3), 6-3 victory on court two
Meanwhile, National champion Siddharth continued with his impressive run of form and ground out a hard-fought straight sets 7-6(5), 6-4 win against American qualifier Harrison Adams to set up an all-India final.
Ramkumar is contention of winning a grand double as he along with his Indian partner Purav Raja bagged the men’s doubles crown. The top-seeded Indian combination of Ramkumar and Raja outclassed the combined efforts of the unseeded pairing of American Adams and Ukrainian Vladyslav Orlov (UKR) by smoothly cruising to a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
Ayare shines in CFCI’s win
Community Football Club of India (CFCI) powered the brilliance of ‘super’ sub Varad Ayare who scored two goals in the second half, fought back strongly to overcome Kenkre FC 2-1 in a Premier Division match of the Mumbai Football League.
Kenkre FC scored first through Umang Surti who gave them the lead in the 40th minute. CFCI returned stronger after the breather and substitute Ayare who replaced Rohit Mirza at the break quickly made his presence felt by scoring the equalizer in the 48th minute. Thereafter, CFCI continued to search for more goals and their efforts were rewarded when Ayare once again found the back of the Kenkre net in the 85th minute. TNN

Akshay Karnewar, Aman Mokhade help Vidarbha score back-to-back wins in Vijay Hazare Trophy
Aman Mokhade’s brilliant batting helped Vidarbha secure an eight-wicket victory against Manipur in the Vijay Hazare Group B league match. Despite missing his half-century by a whisker, the 22-year-old right-hander showcased his talent with nine superbly timed boundaries. Chasing a modest target of 114, Vidarbha easily reached the goal in just 16.5 overs, with opener Sanjay Ramaswamy and Mokhade leading the charge. Vidarbha’s bowlers also performed well, bundling out Manipur for 113 with left-arm spinner Akshay Karnewar taking four wickets.
