Total Ankle Replacement Surgery: Total Ankle Replacement Surgery at KD Hospital Ahmedabad: Meghraj Baheti | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: Meghraj Baheti56, a businessman from Bhilwara in Rajasthan, had been suffering from ankle pain for 12 years. With ankle arthritisin his left leg, he had constant pain, stiffness and swelling which limited his movements. Baheti recently underwent total ankle replacement at KD Hospital in the city. The hospital authorities said this was one of the first such procedures in the city.
Experts said that traditionally, ankle fusion was the only available treatment to alleviate pain, but it severely limits joint movement. The surgeons thus opted for replacement for which patient-specific implants were imported from the UK.
Dr Ateet Sharma, senior joint replacement surgeon, said that just like knee replacement, ankle replacement is a boon to patients with chronic pain. “Within two months of surgery, the patient can return to their normal routine. The surgery involves replacing the bottom part of the shin bone and the top part of the ankle bone,” he said. The team also included Dr Dhimant Patel, a foot and ankle surgeon. tnn

AI can never replace art of filmmaking
Filmmaker Ketan Anand believes that AI can never replace the art of filmmaking. He describes AI as a cold-blooded thing, while organic filmmaking is capable of emotions and romance. Anand was speaking at the 54th International Film Festival of India (Iffi) in Goa, where he discussed the restoration of his father’s film Haqeeqat. He believes that AI may not be used for restoration and that people are overhyping its capabilities. While technology is here to stay, the future of AI is still uncertain.
AI cannot replace human beings in creating great literature, experts
Experts attending an international conference on AI in literature and films discussed the inability of AI to replace human emotions, varied experiences, and the passion captured by human authors. While AI tools can process and supply information quickly, they cannot create emotional attachment, complex relationships, or special feelings like human authors. The conference also explored the possibility of AI challenging and emerging as another form of consciousness, potentially impacting human supremacy. The researchers referred to the Frankenstein syndrome, which explores the fear of human creations turning against humans. The conference will further debate the impact of AI on literature and films.
