Aizawl East – I Assembly Election Result 2023: The Election Commission of India is prepared to start the vote counting process in Aizawl East I at 8 AM. This constituency holds considerable significance as it was part of the Mizoram Assembly Election 2023. Aizawl East-I Assembly constituency is situated in the Aizawl district and constitutes one of the 40 constituencies in the Mizoram Legislative Assembly.
Out of the 40 seats in the Mizoram Assembly, 39 are designated for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Tribes (ST).It’s noteworthy that Aizawl East I is the only constituency in the state that is not reserved.

The primary contenders in this constituency are Zoramthanga, who is also the incumbent MLA from the seat, and Lalthansanga, who is representing the Zoram People’s Movement. Additional candidates running for the seat include Lalsanglura Ralte from the Indian National Congress and Lalruatfeli Hlawndo, who is running as an Independent.
In the 2018 Mizoram electionsAizawl East-I exhibited robust electoral engagement, registering a voter turnout of 79.8%. During that electoral period, the Aizawl East-I constituency hosted a competitive race in which the Mizo National Front candidate Zoramthanga emerged triumphant, garnering 8,358 votes. The nearest competitor, an independent candidate named K Sapdanga, lagged behind with 5,854 votes, leading to a winning margin of 2,504 votes.

About Aizawl East – I Assembly Constituency: Aizawl East I, located in the Aizawl district of Mizoram, serves as a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency and is a component of the Mizoram Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Designated as an urban seat, this assembly constituency consists of 24,116 voters, comprising 11,723 male voters and 12,393 female voters.
