Army Officer: From INA to Army, he keeps alive family legacy of 4 generations | India News

DEHRADUN: Brigadier Debkumar Sen and Aparna Sen were justifiably proud as they saw their only child continue their family legacy by becoming a fourth-generation Army officer.
Lt Arjun Senan academically brilliant student, chose to forego lucrative opportunities in the corporate world and pursue a Master’s degree abroad. He opted to follow in the footsteps of his great-grandfather, grandfather, and father.
“My great-grandfather Dr RC Sen served in the Indian National Army as a medical officer; my grandfather Major Gen (retd) DK Sen served in the Indian Army as a doctor. My father, Debkumar Sen, is in the 74th Medium Regiment Artillery, the same unit which I’ve joined,” Lt Sen, 23, said after the pipping ceremony.
“I’m a fourth-generation Army officer, and this makes me extremely proud. Where else could I have gone? It flows in my blood,” he added.
A happy Brigadier Sen said, “Both of us couldn’t have been more pleased; our son has joined my arm and my unit. Having a fourth generation serve the nation is overwhelming, to say the least.”
