Ahmedabad: Over 700 citizens walked more than 4km in Navrangpura on Sunday morning for breast cancer awareness.
The 11th walkathon or Pink Parade by Samved Breast Clinic also saw launch of the book, ‘Tears to Triumph’, chronicling the journey of more than 60 breast cancer survivors.
Dr Shefali Desai, consultant breast surgeon, said that the idea behind the event was to dispel myths, make women confident about their condition and create awareness about self-examination.
“The event saw several accounts of the cancer winners that motivated other participants. The book talks about transformative journeys for these winners that also attempts to answer several frequently asked questions,” she said. tnn
