CM designate Vishnu Deo Sai welcomes Supreme Court verdict on Article 370 | India News

RAIPUR: Calling it a victory for the whole country, Chhattisgarh chief minister designate Lord Vishnu on Monday welcomed the Supreme Court ruling on Article 370. Sai congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah for the victory.
The apex court has upheld the government’s decision to abrogate Article 370 and directed the restoration of statehood to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.The court also directed that statehood to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir be restored at the earliest.
Expressing hope, progress and unity for people of Jammu and Kashmir, CM designate Vishnu Deo Sai said on X, “The Supreme Court’s order to abrogate Article 370 is historic and is a victory of India. It is a resounding declaration of hope, progress and unity for our sisters and brothers in Jammu and Kashmir as well as Ladakh.”
Sai said that it was not just a legal judgment but a testament to our collective resolve to build a united India. I congratulate our PM Modi ji and Union Home Minister Shah ji for this victory, Sai said.
Sai on Monday also visited Lord Ram temple in state capital wishing for all-round development with happiness and prosperity of the people of state.
Expressing toughness against corruption in previous Congress government, Sai said that all the alleged graft cases will be investigated and the culprits will be punished.
“The designation of chief minister is full of responsibilities and I have come to Ram temple to seek lord’s blessings to properly deliver the duty for five years and work for development of all sections of state. May Chhattisgarh make a prominent place in the country in terms with development, I pray this to Lord Ram,” Sai told reporters.
Vowing to work for the betterment of the state and fulfilling the party’s poll promises, Sai earlier said that BJP has always respected the tribal community. It is the BJP that has formed a separate ministry for the welfare of the tribals.
Earlier on December 10, before proceeding to legislative party meeting, Sai met his mother Jasmani Devi at his native village Baghiya in Jashpur district and she blessed him, “You have got an opportunity to serve Chhattisgarh Mahtari, what more could be better than this? This is the result of love from people of state and blessings of PM Modi.”
Sai was on Sunday elected as legislative party leader during the meeting of newly-elected 54 BJP MLAs.
