Court Denies Anticipatory Bail: Court denies anticipatory bail to Mohammed Sufiyan Sindhi accused of uttering triple talaq | Ahmedabad News

Ahmedabad: A city sessions court has denied anticipatory bail to a man named Mohammed Sufiyan Sindhiaccused by his wife of uttering triple talaq in a single go before her. While the prosecution has said that the man’s custodial interrogation is required, the wife argued that his gesture is such that it hurts a woman’s pride.
Refusing the pre-arrest bail, additional sessions judge M B Kotak said, “Triple talaq is not right for social balance, and the criminal provision in the law was enacted in 2019 to secure women’s rights.The complainant has been illegally divorced after a considerable period since her marriage and despite having a child. This can be called social evil, and the applicant cannot be granted anticipatory bail.”
Sindhi’s wife accused him and her in-laws of cruelty and dowry demand. In her FIR before the Mahila police station (west), she mentioned that they got married in 2018 and have a child. Her husband pronounced instant talaq when she refused to bring money from her parents. tnn
