The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), apex drug regulatory body of India, has advised manufacturers of cough syrups to buy and use only pharma grade excipients to ensure qualitysafety, efficacy of the drug formulations. The advisory comes as the likelihood of the usage of cough syrup is high in winters.
