Mumbai: A Long official lodged a complaint of cheating with the Kherwadi police against a former employeefor using a fake disability certificate to join the organisation. The accused was employed in the position of senior clerk on January 5, 2023, based on his application as a partially visually challenged individual. An inquiry was initiated against him by Mhada after they received a complaint against him from the Maharashtra state disabled workers association.The FIR also names the scribe enlisted by the ex-employee to appear for exams on his behalf. According to the FIR, the ex-employee was served a notice on June 7 to appear before Mhada along with the scribe and produce all education-related documents. But both of them did not appear.
“After joining the service, the accused had been sent for a medical examination at the JJ Hospital. But instead of producing original hospital reports, he submitted photocopies to his employer. In August 2023, MHADA served a second notice asking him to produce original JJ Hospital reports. The accused stopped reporting to work. So his services were terminated in September,” said a police officer. TNN
