Mumbai: NCP working president of the Sharad Pawar faction and MP Supriya Sule on Saturday launched a frontal attack against deputy CM Devendra Fadnavissaying he had deliberately publicized his letter to deputy CM Ajit Pawar against NCP’s Nawab Malik for causing the latter harassment and mental torture.
“There appears to be a complete paralysis. Fadnavis and deputy CM Ajit Pawar know each other, they also interact during cabinet meetings, so it was possible for Fadnavis to discuss the Malik episode with him.Instead, he released the letter to the media for obvious political reasons,” Sule said.
In his letter to Ajit Pawar, Fadnavis said Nawab Malik had been accused of being a traitor and informed Ajit that his party would not welcome Malik in the Mahayuti or grand alliance.
Sule said while Fadnavis wrote a letter to Ajit Pawar, even food and civil supplies minister Chhagan Bhujbal had spoken out against a senior cabinet minister. “The issues raised by Fadnavis and Bhujbal could have been sorted in the cabinet or at the personal level. There appears to be a conspiracy at all levels,” she alleged.
Strongly defending Malik, Sule said he had been one of the best spokespersons in the country and was instrumental in exposing the drug mafia. “Fadnavis had promised us action would be taken against the drug mafia. However, three months after his assurance, no concrete action is forthcoming. We are shocked over his failure to take on the drug mafia,” Sule said.
Describing Fadnavis as “half-DCM,” Sule said even though the BJP has 105 legislators in the House of 288, instead of appointing him as CM, he has been made the deputy chief minister. “It is Fadnavis’s insult,” she said. Sule claimed that “in the ICE (Income-tax, CBI and ED) government, corrupt people have been admitted in BJP.”

Not proper to take Nawab Malik in Mahayuti, Devendra Fadnavis tells Ajit Pawar
After NCP MLA Nawab Malik attended the legislative assembly, deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis expressed concerns about his inclusion in the grand alliance due to the charges against him. Fadnavis mentioned Malik’s alleged ‘Dawood connection’ and stated that it would not be right to have him as part of the coalition. Ajit Pawar had earlier mentioned that BJP did not want Anil Deshmukh, another minister facing corruption charges, in the government. As the two NCP factions have not been recognized by the Speaker, there are no separate seating arrangements for MLAs from the factions.
