HYDERABAD: Telangana former CM K Chandrasekhar Rao underwent a hip replacement surgery at a private hospital here on Friday evening after he had a fall in the bathroom at his Erravelli farmhouse in the early hours of the day.

KCR was shifted to the Somajiguda-based hospital by his family members. The hospital said the formerCM suffered a left hip fracture. “He required left hip replacement and the recovery in such cases is normally six to eight weeks,” the hospital said. After sending his resignation to governor Tamilisai Soundararajan, KCR left his Begumpet camp office for the farmhouse on December 3.
PM Narendra Modi led several politicians in wishing for KCR’s speedy recovery. “Distressed to know that former Telangana CM KCR has suffered an injury. On learning about KCR’s fall and admission to the hospital, chief minister A Revanth Reddy asked the secretary of health department to visit the hospital and inquire about the health condition of the ex-CM. The secretary interacted with the doctors and management of the hospital. Following a report from the health department, the CM directed the authorities to ensure KCR is given the best healthcare during hospitalisation.
