Search Operation: Pistol, ammunition recovered during search operation in J&K’s Rajouri

JAMMU: A joint team of security forces seized a pistol and eight rounds of ammunition, suspected to be drone-dropped, during a cordon-and-search operation in Nowshera sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s Rajouri district, police said on Friday.
Operation Lamberi was launched by a joint team of the Indian Army’s 54RR, CRPF’s 72Bn, and J&K Police, in the vicinity of Nowshera’s Garan village based on intelligence inputs from local sources about a drone sighting on December 5, said Rajouri Police in a statement.
Following the recovery, the area was cordoned off and further searches were underway, the statement said, adding that a case had been registered in the connection at Nowshera police station under relevant sections of the law.
