Suicide: Man Drives Auto Into Creek, Dies | Mumbai News

Mumbai: A 69-year-old autorickshaw took his own life by driving his auto at full speed into the Gorai creek. Former corporator from the area, Shivanand Shetty, took to Instagram to tweet videos and photos of attempts to rescue him.
Shetty posted that he received a call from a boat owner about the incident at around 10pm on December 1, following which he summoned the Borivli police and fire brigade to the location immediately.With the help of these agencies and local residents, the senior citizen’s body was fished out. Shetty said the deceased’s name was Pravin Patkar and he lived in Charkop’s sector 2. The Borivli Police said he was living away from his family and was also unwell which could have left him depressed. Police have recorded an accidentaldeath case and are probing further. 4 aerators to control bacteria, improve St Inez creek water
The water resources department (WRD) will install four aerators in the polluted St Inez creek in Panaji, Goa. The aerators are part of the Smart City Mission’s project to rejuvenate and improve the water quality of the creek. They will help control bacterial activity and algae growth, maintaining oxygen content in the water. The WRD is also desilting the creek and repairing retaining walls to prevent flooding. In 2015, the Goa State Pollution Control Board attempted aeration of the creek, but it was unsuccessful.
Police arrest ringleader of gang which robbed Indian Sikh family in Pakistan’s Punjab province
The ringleader of robbers who looted an Indian Sikh family in Lahore has been arrested. Kanwal Jeet Singh and his family were robbed of money and jewelry by robbers disguised as police officers. The arrested ringleader is identified as Ahmad Raza. Other members of the gang are being sought by the police. The Punjab caretaker Chief Minister has demanded the culprits to be brought to justice within 48 hours.
