Filmmaker Kiran Rao has spoken about motherhood. Kiran is the ex-wife of Aamir Khan. In an interview, Kiran had said that she suffered several miscarriages before the birth of her son Azad. This also caused him many health problems.
In an interview to Zoom Entertainment, Kiran said that Azad was born in the same year when the film ‘Dhobi Ghat’ was made. I tried many times for a baby. For five years, I endured multiple miscarriages and had many personal and health problems. I wanted a child but it was very difficult. In such a situation, when Azad was born, my only focus was to give him a good upbringing.

A son was born through surrogacy
Kiran and Aamir’s son was born through surrogacy. Due to difficulty conceiving, Kiran decided on surrogacy, after which Azad was born in 2011. Now Azad is 13 years old. Kiran said in an interview about his son, ‘Happiness came into our lives after the birth of Azad. Those were the best years of our lives. I don’t regret at all that I didn’t do a film for ten years because I enjoyed that period so much.
Does Azad also want to be an actor? In response to this question, Kiran said, ‘No, not at all right now. He doesn’t want to join films now. He has no interest in movies. Azad is interested in art, music and animation.
Even after the divorce, Aamir-Kiran have a strong bond.

Kiran Rao married Aamir on 28 December 2005. About this relationship, Aamir once said that he first met Kiran on the sets of the film ‘Lagaan’. Kiran was the assistant director in that film. Even after the divorce, the two share a great bonding.
