Salman Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma’s third career film ‘Ruslaan’ was released in theaters this Friday. Despite heavy promotions, the film collected Rs 60 lakhs on its opening day at the box office. However, it was better than ‘Do Aur Do Pyaar’ which released last week. Vidya Balan, Prateek Gandhi and Ileana D’Cruz starrer this film did a business of Rs 55 lakh on the opening day.

Total Occupancy was 6.42%
The total occupancy of the film was 6.42% on the first day. The film achieved 7.50% occupancy in 303 shows in Mumbai. While in Delhi-NCR its occupancy was 7% with 357 shows.

The film ‘Antim’ earned Rs 5.03 crore on its opening day
Two of Aayush’s earlier released films had better opening day collections than ‘Ruslaan’. Aayush’s first film ‘Lavayatri’, released in 2018, opened at Rs 2 crore. While ‘Antim’ released in 2021 did a business of Rs 5.03 crore on the opening day. Aayush’s opposite actress Shreya Mishra has debuted in the film ‘Ruslan’. Apart from these two, Telugu star Jagapathi Babu and ‘Chak De India’ fame actress Vidya Malavade will also be seen in the film.

According to trade analysts, Bollywood has suffered an estimated loss of Rs 250 crore in April. Films like ‘Bade Mian Chote Mian’ and ‘Meydan’ which released earlier in the month also flopped badly. The situation was so bad that the makers and theater owners had to offer free tickets on each to improve the collections of several films released this month.
