'Make your vote count:' PM urges voters as polling kicks off for the 6th phase | India News


NEW DELHI: As the polling for the sixth phase begun, Prime Minster Narendra Modi on Saturday urged people to turn out in large numbers and make their “vote count.” The polling has kicked off in 58 seats across seven states and one union territory in the sixth and penultimate phase of the Lok Sabha election.
Taking to X, PM Modi asserted that democracy thrives as a result of people exercising their voting right.
“Democracy thrives when its people are engaged and active in the electoral process,” he said.
“Every vote counts, make yours count too!,” he added.
He also in particular urged the women voters and youth voters to exercise their democratic right.

Assembly elections are being held in the state simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections in the state.
Some prominent candidates include Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra and former Union Minister Maneka Gandhi. Bansuri Swaraj, Somnath Bharti, Manoj Tiwari, Kanhaiya Kumar, Dinesh Lal Yadav alias ‘Nirahua’, Dharmendra Yadav, Abhijit Gangopadhyay, Agnimitra Paul, Naveen Jindal, Raj Babbar, Deepender Singh Hooda, Kumari Selja and Aparajita Sarangi are among other prominent candidates in the fray.
