6 people came posing as food delivery boys and attacked with an axe... Everyone is stunned by the murder of BSP's Tamil Nadu chief

Chennai. A very shocking incident of murder took place in Tamil Nadu’s capital Chennai on Friday evening. Here, the head of the Tamil Nadu unit of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), K. Armstrong was murdered by 6 bike riders. Media reports have claimed that these attackers came disguised as food delivery agents and attacked Armstrong with an axe and sickle. These attackers fled from there after committing the murder and the police is searching for them.

Armstrong, a lawyer by profession, was elected to the Chennai Corporation Council in 2006. He came into the limelight two years ago after he organised a mega rally in Chennai and invited BSP chief Mayawati.

Attack happened outside the home
According to the information received, Armstrong was talking to some party officials near his house in Chennai’s Sembium area, when six people came on a bike and attacked him and fled. After this attack, Armstrong’s family immediately took him to the hospital, but the doctors declared him dead.

Police officials said that this could be a revenge killing linked to the murder of a gangster, Arcot Suresh, last year. A senior police officer said, “We are investigating the case. This murder seems to be linked to an earlier murder.”

Mayawati expressed grief
BSP supremo Mayawati described Armstrong as a strong voice of Dalits on social media platform X and asked for immediate action against the culprits. She wrote, ‘The brutal murder of BSP Tamil Nadu State Unit President K. Armstrong outside his Chennai residence this evening is extremely sad and highly condemnable. Armstrong, a lawyer by profession, was known as a strong voice of Dalits in the state. The government should take strict action against the culprits immediately.’

On the other hand, the opposition has targeted the ruling DMK in Tamil Nadu over this murder and said that this murder is a proof of the deteriorating law and order situation in the state. Leader of Opposition Edappadi Palaniswami said, ‘What should I say when the state head of a national party is murdered? The state of law and order is shameful. There is no fear of law or police’.
