New Delhi. On the 8th day of the Asian Games, India has won two medals in shooting. The men’s team has won the gold medal in double trap while the women’s team has also won the silver medal in this event. The trio of Indian shooters Prithviraj Tondiman, Darius Chennai and Zorawar Sandhu have won the gold medal in double trap. At the same time, the trio of Manisha Keer, Rajeshwari Kumari and Preeti Rajjak have succeeded in winning the silver medal in the women’s double trap event.
The Indian trio of Kinan Chennai, Zoravar Singh and Prithviraj Tondiman overshadowed the shooters from Kuwait and China and won the gold medal with a score of 361. This is the highest score by any team in trap shooting at the Asian Games. Kinan and Zoravar will also contend for gold in the individual event of double trap.
Earlier, on the 8th day, India got its first medal in golf. India’s Aditi Ashok missed out on winning gold in the women’s golf event but she created history by winning the silver medal. She is the first Indian woman golfer to win a medal in the Asian Games. Aditi was leading the race to win gold but in the last 4 holes, the Thai player showed a strong game and left Aditi behind. India has so far won 11 gold, 16 silver and 14 bronze medals in the Asian Games.
On the eighth day of the Asian Games, India has a chance to break the wall of China and win the gold medal in badminton. The men’s team final in badminton will be played at 2.30 pm. Apart from this, India can also win a medal in athletics. India’s Amlan Borgohan finished third in the heats of the men’s 200 meter race and has reached the semi-finals. Only the athletes who finish in the first three positions in the heat get a ticket to the semi-finals.
Apart from this, India also has a chance to win medals in shooting. Prithviraj Tondiman, Darius Chennai and Zorawar Sandhu will be competing in the men’s trap individual and team events. Whereas, among women, Manisha Keer, Preeti Rajjak and Rajeshwari Kumari are in the race for medals in the women’s trap event.
In boxing, Praveen, Jasmine and Nikhat Zareen will also enter the ring today. India has won a total of 38 medals in the Asian Games so far. India is at the fourth position in the medal tally. India has a chance to complete fifty medals on the 8th day. So far India has won 10 gold, 15 silver and 14 bronze medals. India has won the most medals in shooting.
