New Delhi. Indian shooters performed brilliantly on the sixth day of the Asian Games being held in Hangzhou, China, i.e. on Friday. India has got 5 medals so far. Out of these, 4 medals have been received in shooting alone. These include two gold and two silver medals. India has also got a silver medal in tennis. The pair of Palak and Isha Singh succeeded in winning the gold medal in the women’s 10 meter air pistol event. Pakistan’s Kishmala Talat had to settle for the bronze medal. Palak scored 242.1 and Ishaan scored 239.7. Palak also made an Asian Games record. She scored the highest in this event. This is Isha’s fourth medal.
Earlier, the trio of Palak, Isha and Divya TS won the silver medal in the 10 meter air pistol event on Friday. The trio of Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar, Swapnil Kushale, Akhil Sheoran won gold with a world record in the 50 meter rifle three P men’s team event. At the same time, the Indian pair of Saketh Meneni and Ramkumar Ramanathan lost in the final of men’s doubles tennis and got the silver medal.
Aishwarya, Swapnil and Akhil broke the existing world record by 8 points to win the team gold in the men’s 50m rifle 3P. Both Swapnil and Aishwarya shot 591 out of 600, which is a new qualifying Asian record. Of the three Indians in the top 8, Akhil Sheoran finished an impressive 5th with 587.
Apart from this, the Indian trio of Isha Singh, Palak and Divya TS won the silver medal in the women’s 10 meter air pistol team event. The Indian team lagged behind China by 5 points and had to settle for the silver medal. The team of Isha Singh, Palak and Divya finished second with a score of 1731-50x. China’s pair of Ranking, Li and Nan won the gold.
The number of medals in India has now reached 30. On the sixth day of the Asian Games, India has won two gold and two silver medals in shooting. One silver medal has been won in tennis. India has won a total of 6 gold medals in shooting so far, which is the highest. Overall medals are also more in shooting. India has won a total of 17 medals in shooting.
