Washington. Massive IT outages have been reported across the world. All major banks, media outlets and airlines are currently grappling with major IT outages. Flights have been halted at Sydney Airport, United Airlines has stopped flying and the London Stock Exchange Group is experiencing problems with its platforms. The problem is being linked to software belonging to Microsoft. Microsoft said it is investigating problems related to cloud services in the US and the problem affects many of its apps and services.
US airlines, including United, Delta and American Airlines, have issued a global ground stop on all flights. Flights that are currently airborne will continue, but no more flights will be operated for now. Reports of IT outages are coming in from around the world. Airlines, broadcasters and banks are affected – including Sky News in the UK, which has gone off-air. Delays are reported at many airports in the UK and around the world, with some flights suspended.
While in Australia, airports, shops and communications are affected, with Australia’s National Cyber Security Coordinator describing it as a massive technical outage. Railway companies in Britain have reported delays. Microsoft says it continues to deal with the long-lasting impact of the outage.

In Japan, the airport said airlines like Jetstar, Jeju Air, Qantas, HK Express and Spring Japan were facing problems with their systems. In India, Delhi airport said some services were temporarily affected. In London, Sky News resumed its broadcast after it went off air a few moments ago. In Delhi, no electronic terminal was working for check-in and there were long queues.
