Budget 2024: As soon as the budget is presented, Nirmala Sitharaman will have a new achievement in her name, Morarji Desai's record will be broken

New Delhi. The monsoon session of Parliament is going to start from Monday (July 22). At the same time, Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is going to create history by presenting her seventh consecutive budget for the financial year 2024-25 on Tuesday i.e. July 23. In this way, she will break the record of former Prime Minister Morarji Desai. However, Desai still holds the record of presenting the budget the most number of times.

Sitharaman will turn 65 next month. She was made India’s first full-time woman finance minister in 2019. That same year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi formed the government for the second consecutive time at the Centre. Since then, Sitharaman has presented six consecutive budgets, including an interim one in February this year.

Ready to create history with the 7th consecutive budget
The full budget for the financial year 2024-25 (April 2024 to March 2025) will be her seventh consecutive budget. She will surpass the record of Desai, who presented five consecutive full budgets and one interim budget between 1959 and 1964.
