New Delhi. India’s Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar left for a two-day visit to Qatar on Sunday and during this he will represent India in the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup. Dhankhar is visiting Doha at the invitation of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said on Twitter, “Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar left for Doha on an official visit to Qatar to represent India at the opening ceremony of the FIFA World Cup 2022.”

Apart from attending the opening ceremony of the Football World Cup, the Vice President will also meet members of the Indian community during his visit.
