Congratulations to Argentina on becoming the FIFA World Cup champions. They have performed brilliantly throughout the tournament. Millions of Indian fans of Argentina and Messi are celebrating this spectacular victory.’
Modi also congratulated France for their ‘fantastic performance’. He said, ‘Congratulations to France for their spirited performance in the FIFA World Cup. They won the hearts of football fans with their skill and sportsmanship on their way to the final.’ Argentina won the World Cup by defeating France 4-2 in the penalty shootout in the final.
