I-League: AIFF imposes fine of Rs 60,000 on Sudeva Delhi for fielding ineligible player - I League AIF Disciplinary Committee imposes fine of Rs 60,000 on Sudeva Delhi for fielding ineligible player

New Delhi. The All India Football Federation (AIFF) has imposed a fine of Rs 60,000 on Sudeva Delhi FC for fielding an ineligible player in the I-League match against Mumbai Kenkre. Mumbai Kenkre won the match 2-1, but due to several rule violations on the part of Sudeva, the disciplinary committee declared the winning team 3-0 winners.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the committee said, ‘The AIFF Disciplinary Committee has imposed a fine of Rs 60,000 on Sudeva Delhi FC. Sudeva Delhi FC violated several rules of the current I-League 2022-23 tournament by fielding an ineligible player in the match, which is punishable as per Rule 57 of the AIFF Disciplinary Code.’

Sudeva Delhi FC replaced the Asian foreign player with a non-Asian foreign player from Ghana in the 76th minute of the match and played the rest of the match with four foreign players, without any Asian player.

The matter of fielding an ineligible player was sent to the AIFF Disciplinary Committee, which took this decision.
