IGI Airport Police: Hardeep Singh’s dreams of going to Canada were shattered in no time while he was checking in at Indira Gandhi International Airport. All this happened because of a photo. After which, the airline staff informed the officials of the Immigration Bureau in this regard. The immigration officials also suspected the airline staff. After this, Hardeep Singh was handed over to the IGI Airport Police for action.
During interrogation Hardeep turned out to be Navjot and then…
DCP Usha Rangnani said that during interrogation a new story of Hardeep Singh came to light. Actually, Hardeep Singh confessed during interrogation that his real name is not Hardeep Singh, but Navjot Singh. He is originally a resident of Mallaur village under Naggal police station area of Ambala (Haryana). He was deported from America two years ago. Therefore, now he could not go to Canada on his passport. That is why he was using someone else’s passport to go to Canada.
Where did Navjot get someone else’s passport from?
DCP Usha Rangnani said that based on Navjot’s confession, an FIR was lodged against him under Section 419/420/468/471/34 of IPC and Section 12 of Passport Act and he was arrested. He had to pay Rs 28 lakh to both of them in exchange for this passport.
Have the real culprits been caught by the police
DCP Usha Rangnani said that a special team was formed to arrest the two agents who were trying to send Navjot to Canada on someone else’s passport. This team, formed under the leadership of ACP VKPS Yadav, also included Inspector Raj Kumar Yadav, Sub Inspector Rajesh and Head Constable Ashok.
