New Delhi. India has made it to the final of the Women’s Asia Cup by defeating Bangladesh. The Indian women’s cricket team defeated Bangladesh by 10 wickets on Friday. In the semi-final played in Dambulla, the Bangladesh women’s team could score only 80 runs for 8 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. In response, the Indian team achieved the target in just 11 overs. The Indian team has made it to the final of the Women’s Asia Cup for the ninth time.
Earlier, the first semi-final of the Women’s Asia Cup was played between India and Bangladesh on Thursday. The Indian women’s team made it to the semi-finals by winning all three of its matches. Due to the form of the Indian players, Team India was considered the contender for victory and it proved it right. The second semi-final will be played between Pakistan women’s team and Sri Lanka women’s team from 7 pm. The final match will be played on Sunday.
Renuka Singh and Smriti Mandhana played the most important role in India’s victory against Bangladesh. Renuka Singh won the toss and gave the Bangladeshi team three initial blows, which they could not recover from till the end. Renuka was chosen as the Player of the Match for this performance. Radha Yadav also took 3 wickets. When it was time to bat, Smriti Mandhana took charge. She played an unbeaten innings of 55 runs in 39 balls.
This was the 15th T20 match of the Indian women’s team this year. Out of these, it has won 11 matches and one match was inconclusive. Talking about the matches between Bangladesh and India, 23 matches have been played between them so far. The Indian team was the winner in 20 of these.
