Ind vs Pak women's Asia Cup: India beat Pakistan badly, won the match with 35 balls remaining

New Delhi. The Indian women’s team has made a great start in the Women’s Asia Cup. India defeated the Pakistan women’s team by 7 wickets in their first match. This match played in Dambulla was completely in India’s hands. The Indian bowlers first restricted the Pakistan team to 108 runs. After this, they won the match with 35 balls remaining. This is India’s overall 12th victory over Pakistan in the Women’s Asia Cup.

The Asia Cup match between the Indian women’s team and the Pakistani women’s team was played on Friday. In the Women’s Asia Cup being played in Sri Lanka, Pakistani captain Nida Dar won the toss and decided to bat first, which did not prove to be right. The Indian bowlers did not let Pakistan survive even for the full 20 overs and stopped its innings at 108 runs in 19.2 overs.

Sidra Amin scored the highest 25 runs for Pakistan. Tuba Hasan and Fatima Hasan played innings of 22-22 runs. Apart from these three, no other batsman could reach the 20-run mark. Muniba Ali got out after scoring 11 runs, Nida Dar 8, Alia Riaz 6 and Gul Ferozza 5 runs. Deepti Sharma took the highest 3 wickets for India. Renuka Singh, Pooja Vastrakar and Shreyanka Patil took 2-2 wickets each.

After the bowlers bundled out Pakistan cheaply, it was the turn of the Indian batsmen. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Shefali Verma gave their team a stormy start. Both of them scored 85 runs in 9.3 overs. However, both the Indian openers were unlucky in this matter that they could not complete the fifty even after coming close.

Smriti Mandhana was out after scoring 45 runs off 31 balls. Shefali Verma played an innings of 40 runs off 29 balls. Chi Hemalatha scored 14 runs off 11 balls. After the dismissal of these three, captain Harmanpreet Kaur (5) and Jemimah Rodrigues (3) took India to the target. India won the match by losing 3 wickets in 14.1 overs.
