Kasganj. A tragic incident took place in Rekhapur of Kasganj in which 2 girls including a young woman died due to drowning. According to the police, this incident took place in Rekhapur village of Kasganj. Ramayan Katha was being organized in the village and the whole village was excited. The next day a feast was organized and such an incident happened here. Actually, 5 people who had gone to take bath in Gorha canal went into deep water and all of them drowned. Other people of the village were also bathing nearby. In such a situation, amidst the screams, the local people saved 2 girls, but 3 others died.
Additional Superintendent of Police Kasganj Rajesh Kumar Bharti said that the police have taken out all the three bodies from the canal and sent them for postmortem. There is mourning in the village after the accident. The villagers said that a huge feast was to be organized in the village on Wednesday. All the people had gathered to participate in it. Ankhed Ramayan Paath had started in the temple of Brahmadev Baba. People had come from far and wide to participate in it.
The girls went to take a bath before going to the puja
On Tuesday evening, a newly married woman and 4 teenage girls from the village reached Gorha canal to take bath. While bathing, 22-year-old newly married Sandhya, 14-year-old Sakshi and 14-year-old Shammi drowned. The local police was informed about the incident. The police reached there and with the help of local divers, the bodies of the three were taken out after a lot of effort and sent for post-mortem.
She had returned to the village from her in-laws’ house, she had to take part in Ramayana
It is said that the deceased newly married Sandhya was married to Sandeep, a resident of Agra, a year ago. She had returned from Agra because Ramayan Katha was being organized in the village. Before that, an unfortunate incident happened. After the incident of drowning in the canal, there is mourning in the entire village. And in a moment, happiness turned into mourning.
