Today, even though farmers across the country are in constant losses due to rising cost of farming and falling prices of crops, there is no possibility of loss in the offbeat farming done by Dr. Rajaram Tripathi. Rather, the profit in it is continuously increasing. The biggest thing is that only natural resources are used in the farming methods of Dr. Rajaram Tripathi. Due to which no pollution is spread in the land, air and water and the quality of crops remains intact. Dr. Rajaram Tripathi has also been honored for this. The Ministry of AYUSH of the Government of India has also made him a member of the Medicinal Plants Board.
Dr. Rajaram Tripathi not only cultivates herbal plants himself but he has also associated other farmers in many areas of Chhattisgarh to cultivate herbs and spices with him. By joining them, today farmers are cultivating herbal plants and spices on more than a thousand acres of land in Chhattisgarh. Dr. Rajaram Tripathi has also formed an organization named Central Herbal Agro Marketing Federation to protect farmers from the trap of traders. About 22000 farmers from all over the country are associated with this organization and they sell their crops through it. The number of foreign buyers on his website is very high. Dr. Rajaram Tripathi has also worked to train hundreds of farmers for cultivation of herbal plants and spices.
Yogi government took a unique initiative to double the income of farmers
Dr. Rajaram Tripathi is very disappointed that the cultivation of herbal and spices is not developing in the country the way it should. The organic farming market in the whole world is worth about 60 trillion dollars. India’s share in this is very less, while India has a lot of possibilities. Only a few countries in the world have as much biodiversity as India has. Still, India is far behind in this direction. While many countries with limited biodiversity are far ahead in the export of medicinal plants from India.
Plan to increase farmers’ income by cultivating Australian teak and black pepper in Uttarakhand
Dr Rajaram Tripathi believes that the farmers of the country can easily supply the raw material required by the Ayurvedic medicine companies. This will reduce the pressure of Ayurvedic medicine companies on the forests and will also protect the forests. It is important to protect the forests from the tribes and other people living in the forests for herbs, because they harm the forests.
Dr. Rajaram Tripathi says that it has been about 25 years since he started cultivating medicinal plants and spices. Now his words are being taken seriously among the farmers. Along with black pepper and stevia, Dr. Tripathi is now also cultivating black rice. Dr. Tripathi also believes that farmers should stop relying on the government and find new markets for their crops themselves and do new experiments. Regarding the medicinal plant market, Dr. Tripathi believes that right now even big companies are dependent on forest produce. But this method is not going to last long, because it is increasing pressure on forests. Therefore, cultivation of medicinal plants is the method by which along with protecting water, forest and land, farmers can also be protected.
