Recently, the Rim of the Pacific Military Exercise 2024 was completed on the Hawaiian Islands of the US. 40 surface ships from 29 countries, three submarines, land forces of 14 countries, more than 150 fighter jets and more than 25,000 army personnel participated in it, but this exercise caught people’s attention when a low-cost bomb from America sank a retired ship in a single sea. It was the first time that the US Air Force successfully demonstrated this low-cost bomb with its dangerous B-2 bomber. Its specialty is that this very small looking, silent and cheap bomb can easily sink a surface ship (ship moving on land and water).
China is getting tensed due to the successful military campaign of America and its allies in the Pacific Ocean. In fact, for the last few years, America and China have been facing each other in some way or the other regarding the South China Sea and Taiwan. China must be worried about this small bomb of America, which has been named Quikshink, because this bomb made at a low cost can destroy any ship sailing on the surface of the sea in a blink of an eye. On the other hand, China is surrounding its ships from the South China Sea to Taiwan-Philippines.
The US Army has described this low-cost bomb as important for a future war with China in the Pacific Ocean. According to information received from the US Army, this low-cost bomb easily destroyed an 820-foot-long and 39,000-ton amphibious ship in an exercise. The US Air Force has named it ‘QUICKSINK’.
There is a dire need for a low-cost bomb
The US military said in its July 19 general briefing that its capability is the answer to the urgent need to quickly neutralize any threat at the lowest cost on the vast sea surface of the oceans around the world. He also said that in the Rim of the Pacific 2024 (RIMPAC) exercise concluded this month, America’s retired ship Tarawa was shot down. At the same time, when it is accompanied by America’s B-2 bomber, it becomes even more frightening. In fact, the B-2 bomber has the ability to destroy the enemy’s army on the battlefield, dodging any radar.
Some features of this bomb-
- It is a low-cost method of launching missiles from the air, with the same range as a submarine torpedo. It covers more area and at a much faster speed than a heavy submarine torpedo.
- The US Air Force first tested QUICKSINK in 2022. Then it destroyed a sea-surface ship in the Gulf of Mexico.
- America believes that if this bomb is launched from the B-2 bomber, then the Chinese army can be destroyed in the sea in the blink of an eye.
- America has deployed its B-2 bombers around Taiwan, Philippines and the southern islands of Japan. If this bomb is combined with B-2, then the Chinese army will be afraid of carrying out suspicious activities in these areas.
- According to the US Air Force website, it can be attached to a 1,000-kg guided warhead.
- If this bomber is combined with a submarine’s torpedo, it can be made into a missile with ‘anti-ship strike capability’.
- This bomb is also called dumb bomb.
