Moscow. In a clear message, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday told Russian President Vladimir Putin that the Ukraine conflict cannot be resolved on a battlefield and peace talks cannot succeed amid bombs, guns and bullets. In his opening remarks ahead of the summit with Putin at the Kremlin, the Russian presidential office, Modi, apparently referring to the bomb attack on a children’s hospital in Ukraine, said the death of innocent children was heartbreaking and very painful.

Prime Minister Modi assured the global community that India is in favour of peace and conflicts should be resolved through dialogue. He said, “Peace is very important for the bright future of the new generation. Solutions are not possible in the battlefield… Peace talks do not succeed amidst bombs, guns and bullets.”

PM Modi said, “India is ready to cooperate in every possible way to restore peace.” PM Modi arrived in Moscow on Monday on a two-day visit to Russia and today he participated in the 22nd India-Russia annual summit with Putin. Western countries are constantly monitoring this visit in view of the Ukraine conflict.
