Bhagalpur. Preparations are going on at war level in Bhagalpur for the world famous Shravani Mela starting from 22nd July. Devotees coming here will get to see new arrangements this year. Rain shelters are being built to protect the Kanwadis from rain. These will be equipped with modern facilities.
Till now, only tents were put up in Dhandi Bellary during the Shravani fair held here. But this time a 200-bed tent city and a 500-bed ultramodern rain shelter home have been built in Dhandi Bellary. Kanwadis will get special facilities in this.
AC canteen everything in the shelter
District Magistrate Naval Chaudhary said that many types of facilities are being provided so that the Kanwariyas do not face any inconvenience. There will be many types of facilities including canteen, fan, toilet, AC, parking. Kanwariyas will be able to rest here. Separate arrangements have been made for VIP Kanwariyas. There will also be lockers in this rain shelter, so that the belongings of the Kanwariyas remain safe.
Well equipped rain shelter
Every year, during Shravani Mela, lakhs of Kanwariyas collect water from here and go to Baba Baijnath Dham. Its distance is about 105 km. This entire journey is done on foot. The district administration has instructed all the officers to increase their duty in Sultanganj during Shravani Mela. Efforts should be made to ensure that Kanwariyas do not face any inconvenience. Arrangement of mikes should be made everywhere so that announcements can be made easily. No fee will be charged from anyone in the rain shelter this year, but it is possible that a minimum fee will be charged from next year. This year Kanwariyas will get a chance to stay for free. This rain shelter has been built near Dhandi Bellary. A tent city is also being constructed here. There will be a provision for about 500 Kanwariyas to stay here at a time.
