New Delhi. Even today, the audience gets goosebumps on hearing the name of Prem Chopra. Prem Chopra ruled the screen for decades as a dreaded villain of Hindi films. He is still known for the dialogue of the 1973 film ‘Bobby’. Recently, the actor has shared an anecdote related to this dialogue of his in his latest interview. He told that there was such a craze for his villainy among the audience that once the fans stopped the train to hear a dialogue from him.
In a conversation with Bollywood Bubble, the actor told that once he was travelling by train and his fans came to know about this. He says, ‘It was a fast train, yet they had to stop it at every station because there was a lot of crowd at every station and they asked me to say the dialogue ‘Prem Chopra naam hai mera’ at the station’. He said that the crowd was not allowing the train to move forward, so he had to say this dialogue at every station.
Raj Kapoor did not reveal the role
Talking about his iconic dialogue from the film ‘Bobby’, Prem Chopra says that filmmaker Raj Kapoor kept him in the dark about his role in the film. The legendary director did not share any details about the film and his role. He had said that he would tell the actor about his role only after reaching the set.
Despite Prem Chopra’s repeated requests, Raj Kapoor did not tell him anything about his role. When the actor reached Pune for the shooting of the film, he came to know that he had only one line in the film. The actor says in his interview that he was not at all sure about his role in the film.
