New York. In a recent report by Forbes Advisor, Karachi has been ranked as the second most risky city for tourists. The ranking puts Karachi just behind Caracas in Venezuela, which tops the list. Yangon in Myanmar is ranked third. According to the report, Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, has been ranked the sixth most risky city. Caracas is considered the world’s most risky city for tourists. The parameters that determine this ranking include high crime rates, violence, political instability and economic challenges.
The Pakistani city of Karachi faces a wide range of personal safety threats, including crime, violence, terrorist threats and natural disasters. The US State Department has rated the travel safety of the city of Karachi as ‘Level 3’. Which means people should reconsider their travel to this city. Apart from this, Karachi is struggling with poor infrastructure, which ranks fourth in infrastructure safety threats globally. On the other hand, Myanmar’s Yangon is the third most risky city due to issues of crime and violence, as well as political unrest and economic weaknesses.
Forbes Advisor ranked 60 international cities on seven key parameters to determine the most and least risky cities for tourists. The 2017 Economist Intelligence Unit rankings placed Karachi among the top five ‘least liveable’ cities in the world. The top 10 riskiest cities in the world for tourists are:

In contrast to the riskiest cities, Forbes Advisor has also listed the safest cities for tourists. Singapore has emerged as the safest city in the world. Tokyo is in second place. Toronto is also included in the list of safest cities with strong public safety measures and high-quality infrastructure.
